We're doing a thing...

An elopement in the Mongolian mountains.

In true Abbey + Courtney fashion, we’ve decided to skip the traditional wedding route and run off to Mongolia to get married. We’ll be saying I do somewhere in the mountains of Terelj at sunset (we think…) We don’t have all the details figured out but we do have flights booked so that’s something right!?. We plan to livestream the ceremony so you can still be part of it all - see link below

Passcode: abs&court
Livestream Time:
5:00 PM - Mongolia (where it’s happening)
5:00 AM - Georgia (coffee encouraged)
2:00 AM - California (sorry lol... you’re the real MVPs)
7:00 PM - Australia (Aussie fam, let's toast together!)

Here's where we'll be

Terejl Lodge, Mongolia

We'll be tucked into the hills of Terejl, just outside of Ulaanbaatar, staying in traditional Mongolian gers (yurts) surrounded by the mountains.

Our Story

How it all began...

It all started in 2020 on a dating app (because of course). Courtney sent the first message… then the second… then the third. Abbey, naturally ignored him for three solid months. Eventually, she gave in and responded to his offer of wine and a sunset (hard to resist).

For our first date, we hiked for two hours through the Malibu hills. Yes, with a total stranger. Thankfully, Courtney wasn’t a serial killer (as far as we know). He did make a few jokes about burying Abbey in the woods… great start, Courtney.

For Abbey, it was love at first sight. Courtney… took a minute. But he got there. From that point on, we were basically inseparable. We quickly became best friends, and falling in love with your best friend? That’s something we’ll never be able to explain, but it’s the best thing in the world.

(Then Courtney’s visa expired, and he had to go back to Australia for six months, leaving Abbey holding onto hope… and his 1972 VW Bus, fully packed, parked in her garage.)

Once we were reunited, things moved fast. Camping trips to the San Bernardino Mountains became our thing, and a few months later, we bought our first home together in Cedarpines Park. Abbey wasn’t exactly thrilled about buying a very questionable fixer upper, but Courtney did what he does best and turned it into an adventure.

Fast forward a couple of years, through blood, sweat, tears, and a SHITLOAD of wine, the house is almost finished and looking a lot less "fixer upperish". Our relationship, on the other hand? THRIVING. They say if you can survive renovating a house together, you can survive anything.

Then came Jamaica. Abbey joined Courtney on his 40th build project around the world building a culinary education center for a deaf community in Jamaica. What she didn’t know was that Courtney was secretly learning how to sign “Will you marry me?” all week with the help of one of the students. It wasn’t the smoothest proposal, there was confusion, a few failed attempts, and finally the answer was yes. Well, abbeys return sign was actually just “ye..." close enough.

Now we’re continuing this wild adventure with a wedding in Mongolia, Courtney’s 48th build project around the world and the start of whatever this next wild chapter turns out to be.

Thanks for being part of our story. We seriously can't wait to celebrate with all of you when we're back ♡ Stay tuned for reception info.

Q + A

ALL THE ANSWERS

Q: Wait...Mongolia...

A: Yep, you read it right! Long story short: Courtney’s 48th build is happening there and trying to organize a wedding for an Australian and a Southerner living in California, with family and friends scattered all over the world is one tough cookie. So we thought...f**k it!

Q: Are we invited?

A: Nope! Just us and probably a horse or two plus the small crew Courtney works with, who were with us in Jamaica. They’ll film it and we’ll showcase it at our Aus and Cali “wedding parties” so you can feel like you were there… 2025 style.

Q: Are you pregnant?

A: No… and we really hope not after all the wine Abbey’s been drinking. We just suck at planning and thought, why not Mongolia?

Q: Will there be photos?

A: Absolutely. And video. We’ll share sneak peeks plus the full gallery once we’re back. The video is getting saved for the wedding party.

Q: How did you even plan a wedding in Mongolia?

A: We didn’t. We’re hopeless. Luckily, The Fixer’s production coordinator stepped in and became our unofficial wedding planner (thanks Itai!) Without him, we’d still be Googling “how to get married in Mongolia.”

Q: Can we celebrate with you later?

A: OBVIOUSLY There’s no way we’re getting married without throwing a party. We’ll definitely be hosting a reception back in California (and probably another one in Sydney) with all our favorite people to watch the video and celebrate luuuurrve. Stay tuned! More details coming soon, but we're thinking November…?

After Mongolia...

We're heading to Japan

If you have any recommendations, feel free to send them our way (pretty please).

If you're here, you're one of our people

We Didn’t Plan a Registry… or the Wedding, Really.

In true us fashion, we kept things casual and lowkey. If you’d like to chip in toward our honeymoon or help us kick off married life, we’d be so grateful. But honestly, your love and support means the WORLD to us and that’s MORE than enough. ♡
